Mpumalanga’s small and medium tourism businesses made a strong impression on day one of Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 at the Durban ICC(International Convention Centre), with the MTPA(Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency) reporting productive meetings with both local and international buyers.

The SMMEs showcased the province as the “Place of the Rising Sun,” and MTPA said the response was encouraging, with buyers expressing strong interest in visiting Mpumalanga.

The Agency also held engagements with a range of stakeholders, including members of the media, to extend the province’s reach beyond the exhibition floor.
“These engagements are expected to create more opportunities for the people of Mpumalanga Province and contribute towards job creation and economic growth through tourism. Team Mpumalanga is looking forward to a productive and successful second day of the Africa’s Travel Indaba,” said MTPA.
