Flowers blossoming, colours are seen in full colours through different places that it is indeed spring, not only has that but also timed for a number of people to visit attraction sites within the Mpumalanga province. Mpumalanga MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Vusi Mkhatshwa launched the Tourism month at Indalo Lodge under the theme “Tourism for inclusive growth”.
The high impact that Covid-19 has brought in a number of establishments especially in the tourism sector has left a number of owners of establishment’s without hope and leaving no choice but their employees left without jobs.
Mkhatshwa said the main aim of launching the tourism month is to celebrate tourism ability in driving inclusive development and to generate opportunities for many. “The theme further recognizes the recovery of the tourism sector which only be realized if the benefits of the sector include previously disadvantaged communities our townships and rural communities.
During the month of September, we showcase the various tourism offerings in the province and encourage our local communities to travel and explore what is on offer. The tourism sector plays an integral part in our society as it has the potential contribution to social development and economic growth”, said Mkhatshwa.
Residents in Mpumalanga as well as abroad are encouraged to visit all the Tourism sites that had been highlighted and chosen that it be of free entries during the Mpumalanga Parks week, starting from 13 – 17 September 2021. Mpumalanga has several good sites which residents can visit now and again, these places include your Gods window, Three Rondavels, Kruger National park, The Gorge , Pumbaa wildlife and Accomodation and many more. The department with its lead MTPA is expected to continue with a number of events throughout the province in celebrating this tourism month. Before Parks week, the launch of Manyeleti Restaurant is expected where the tourism month will be closed with Tourism Awareness day on the 26th of September.
