Members of Mayoral Committees responsible for Planning and Economic Development, Community Services, as well as Amakhosi and Traditional Leaders, attended a MUNMEC meeting convened by Mpumalanga MEC for DARDLEA(Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs), MEC Khethiwe Moeketsi.
The MEC said the meeting was aimed at aligning provincial priorities with local government and traditional leadership to improve service delivery in all communities.

She said the discussions centred on key priorities that will strengthen service delivery across Mpumalanga.
The priorities reportedly include; Departmental Budget Vote and its implications for municipalities, progress on the Foot-and-Mouth Disease vaccination campaign through enhanced collaboration with municipalities and traditional authorities.
Other priorities include; The implementation of the DFFE 10 Million Trees Campaign and waste management improvement initiatives, and the Mpumalanga International Food Market, which will reportedly unlock opportunities for agricultural value chains, agro-processing, market access for emerging producers, and local economic development.
“ We remain committed to strengthening partnerships with municipalities and traditional leadership as we work together to build a prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs that leaves no community behind,” said MEC Moeketsi.
