As a result, seven suspected stolen cattle were recovered at Allemansdrift C in Vaalbank, near Mmametlhake.
Mpumalanga spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, said no arrests were made in relation to the recovered livestock, but police investigations continue.
“ A helicopter from Pretoria was also brought on board to assist and in deed it helped a great deal,” said Brigadier Mdhluli.
He added that, in a separate incident, a 31 year-old male suspect was nabbed in Siyabuswa during the operation, after he was allegedly found in possession of suspected Crystal Meth drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash. Brigadier Mdhluli said the suspect will appear in court soon.
Major General Mkhwanazi commended the SAPS team for their dedication and successful execution of the operation, demonstrating the police’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring safety and security in the province.
“ We previously emphasised that we take the complaints by livestock owners very seriously and have responded again in this part of the province with concrete action to address this matter once and for all. We will continue with these kind of activities, going forward, “ said General Mkhwanazi.
