The MEC for Mpumalanga DEDT(Department of Economic Development and Tourism), Makhosazane Masilela, extends a warm invitation to holidaymakers to visit the province during the Easter Weekend. With its breathtaking scenery, Mpumalanga promises an unparalleled experience for tourists.
Masilela says the Easter Weekend has the potential to attract a large number of tourists to the province, and lays a fertile ground for economic stimulation.
According to Masilela, the Easter long weekend serves as a spiritual period that allows South Africans to travel across the country for church sermons, leisure and for other good reasons.
She says Mpumalanga is the only province with an abundance of various attractions such as the God’s Window, the Big-Five, Sudwala Caves, as well as the Graskop Gorge, to name but a few.
“ I can safely guarantee those who will choose to visit the Province that they will not regret such a decision. We welcome all people with open and warm arms, and thank them in advance for choosing to visit Mpumalanga. To us, they are our kings and queens as their presence will bring money to the province, and help grow our economy.
“ Mpumalanga is home to everyone and as the safety of tourists is our priority, we are currently working with our sister DCSSL(Department of Community Safety, Security and Liason) and the SAPS(South African Police Service), to ensure the safety of our visitors during the Easter Weekend,” said MEC Masilela.
In addition, Masilela has called upon holidaymakers to adhere to the rules of the road, liqour consumption conditions, and to celebrate the Easter Weekend responsibly.
“ As we prepare to be with our families and friends in this time of celebration and compassion, let us do so in a responsible manner. When you decide to engage in alcoholic beverages, please do so responsibly and do not drink and drive. I wish you a Happy and safe Easter Holiday,” said the MEC.
