Emotions ran high during a fiery DStv Premiership clash between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Vesrveld Loftus Stadium in Tshwane, on Saturday evening of 17 February.

Sundowns went into the game with high expectations of securing an easy victory, but Pirates refused to bow down to intimidation.

The match was characterised by rough tackles from both teams, eventually, referee Thando Ndzindzeka issued a red card against Miguel Timm of Orlando Pirates in the 53rd minute, which gave Sundowns an added numerical advantage.

Marcelo Allende gave Sundowns the lead when he scored from a long range strike in the 74th minute, but the celebration by Masandawana was short-lived when Pirates defender Thapelo Xoki equalised when Pirates were awarded a penalty in the 78th minute, following a foul committed inside the box by Downs defender, Abdelmoumain Boutouil.
