Three classrooms, an administrative office and staff toilets were severely damaged following a fire that reportedly broke out at Crocodile Valley Primary School, in Nelspruit, under the Ehlanzeni District, on Saturday night of 14 June 2025.
The Department of Education in Mpumalanga said the cause of the blaze is under investigation. Additional items including laptops, printers, files and desks, were allegedly also burnt.

“ The Department(of Education) Infrastructure Team will visit the school to assess the full extent of the damage, and to further advise on the cause of action to be undertaken,” said the Department.
Requests were made, by the Department, to anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.
