To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at the Kruger National Park during this festive season, day visitors advised to book online ahead of their visit.
This is according to SANParks(South African National Parks) as it announced that gate quotas will be implemented for day visitors in an attempt to prevent overcrowding on the roads and facilities.
The spokesperson at Kruger National Park, Ike Phaahla, said the Day Visitor Quota is applied throughout the year, although the park mostly reaches carrying capacity during long weekends and school holidays.
Viaitors can book their visits online at www.sanparks.org or through the SANParks Reservation offices at 012 428 9111. Pre-booking is said to be crucial as it allows visitors to secure 80% of the Day Visitor Quota per gate. A non-refundable fee of R56 per adult and R28 per child will reportedly apply to all pre-bookings.

In addition to the booking fee, day visitors will still be required to pay conservation fees or use a valid Wild Card to enter the Park.
“ The Conservation Fee for South African residents as well as Zimbabwe and Mozambique natuonals(passport required to prove this) is R128 per adult and R64 per child(between the ages of 2-11). For nationals of Eswatini and other SADC countries, the Conservation Fees are R257 per adult, and R 128 per child. The standard Conservation Fees of R535 for adults and R257 for children apply to all other guests,” said Phaahla.
Visitors are reminded to arrive within their booked time slots, as late arrivals will not receive preference. A secure and convenient cash-free payment system will be available at the gates and fuel stations.
The KNP has the following entrance gates; Crocodile Bridge, Malelane, Numbi, Phabeni, Paul Kruger, Orpen, Phalaborwa, Punda Maria, Pafuri, and Goroyondo Port of Entry.
