Rob Ferreira Tertiary Hospital in the City of Mbombela, held its annual Open Day programme led by Mpumalanga MEC for Health, Sasekani Manzini, on Friday 10 November.
Community members, in attendance, were given the platform to voice out their views and concerns about health care services rendered at the facility, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Fridah Nyathi.

Manzini appreciated the compliments expressed by some community members during the event. She also shared informative responses to queries raised during her interaction with members of the public.
” It is important that residents are aware of the wide variety of health services available and the vital function the hospital provides to the local community. The department will continue to priorities the people and provide them with adequate health care services.

” We will continue to do awareness campaigns to promote healthy lifestyle matters. We encourage people to get screened for non-communicable diseases, which include heart diseases, stroke, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung diseases, that are collectively responsible for the death of many worldwide,” said Manzini.
Chairperson of the Hospital Board, Dr Q Ambe, said that oversight and unannounced visits to the health facility were conducted to monitor health care services in an attempt to ensure that community members are treated with care.
” We are grateful to the MEC for providing us with an important responsibility of serving our people. Young as we are, we will use the skills and knowledge that we possess. We will serve the community with dedication and commitment, and also to provide support to the hospital as a whole,” said Dr Ambe.
The MEC assured the community members that all the challenges and concerns raised during the gathering will be dealt with accordingly, to ensure that health services are not disrupted.
