Netball South Africa(NSA) has announced that the 2023 Telkom Netball League(TNL) will start on 27 April at the Ngoako Ramahlodi sports complex in Seshego-Polokwane.

NSA president, Cecilia Molokwane, said that the headline sponsors of the domestic netball league, Telkom, will continue their support which intially started in 2019.

She revealed that Telkom has renewed partnership with NSA by a further three years, effective from 1 April this year. According to Molokwane, the communications company will be amongst the premium sponsors of the netball world cup scheduled for July this year, in Cape Town.

“As a federation, we are delighted about their (Telkom) commitment to the growth and development of the sport,” she said.

Gugu Mthembu, Telkom chief marketing officer, said that her company looks forward to yet another successful competition and ultimately continuing with the development of netball in South Africa.

” Through TNL we want to continue showcasing the best netball talent in the country. TNL will provide the platform for all the players and coaches to make the proteas squad for Africa’s first netball world cup,” said Mthembu.

Molokwane confirmed that clothing brand, Puma, has unveiled new kits for all the teams participating in the TNL. Puma reportedly also launched the 2023 netball world cup kit for the South African national team.

She also revealed that two teams, Free State Sonoblomo and Limpopo Lillies (from the Free State and Limpopo, respectively) will be added to the league, bringing the total number of teams to 15. Sonoblomo and Lillies will participate in the second division. Meanwhile, Eastern Cape Aloes, who were the champions of the second division last year, will be promoted to the first division.
