The MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) in Mpumalanga, Jackie Macie, said police officers who collude with criminals will face the long arm of the law.
Macie was giving feeedback to the community of Victor Khanye Local Municipality during Day 2 of the Taking Legislature to the People(TLP) programme on  Tuesday 11 March 2025.
The MEC was responding to issues of crime that were raised by the community in the previous TLP programme that was held in February this year.
According to DCSSL spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, the TLP programme allows MECs from different departments to give feedback on various service delivery issues.

Macie reportedly revealed that the Delmas police station will be adequately resourced with additional vehicles and police officers. He also reflected on the issue of drugs that was raised by community members, as well as the suspicion that the drugs might be manufactured locally.
“ There’s no place in the police force for corrupt officers. If there are police officers who will be found on the wrong side of the law, we will make sure that they get arrested and kicked out of the police system,” said Macie.
Additional activities conducted by the MEC include a an unannounced visit to Botleng Secondary School in Delmas where police officers discovered knives, dagga and cookies laced with dagga, during a search.
