Caption: The tragic head-on collision that claimed lives

A 45 year-old police Constable lost his life in a tragic head-on collision that also claimed the lives of three civilians on the R540 Road between Dullstroom and Belfast, on Thursday 4 July.
According to a statement by Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the Constable died was driving in a marked police van and he died on the scene while the three civilians, one male and two females who were driving in a white double cab, later succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Mdhluli also confirmed that one of the female occupants of the double cab van was a tourist from the United States of America(USA).
The Acting Mpumalanga Provincial Police Commissioner, Major-General Zeph Mkhwanazi, said that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
“ This is a tragic loss of life, and.our thoughts and prayers are with the the families of the deceased,” Mkhwanazi.
