Kaizer Chiefs interim coach, Cavin Johnson, is happy with his team’s performance following a convincing 3-2 victory against Cape Town Spurs on Wednesday 8 November.
The game was played at an empty FNB stadium as part of a fine meted out against Chiefs for unruly behaviour displayed by fans who attacked former head coach Molefi Ntseki in previous matches.
The opening goal for Amakhosi came from Edson Castillo in the 15th minute, followed by Christian Saile and Ranga Chivaviro in the 25th and 82nd minutes respectively. Spurs pulled their first goal scored by Luvuyo Phewa in the 43rd minute, followed by the 17 year old rising star Luke “Boere” Baartman in the 90th minute.

Coach Johnson said that his team is turning a new leaf and emphasised that Amakhosi is at a building stage as attempt to consolidate a formidable squad for the forthcoming PSL games.
” I thought it was a game of lots of patches, we have to give credit to Cape Town Spurs, they gave us a good run for our money. We’ve been working very hard and we are very calm. The three goals we scored were the way we trained.
” I have to give credit to my players, they put in a good shift in patches. We scored the goals but we also dropped our heads when we conceded. Kaizer Chiefs is building something positive for the next games in the PSL,” said Johnson.
Amakhosi will face their usual rivals, Orlando Pirates, in a sold-out derby on Saturday 11 November at FNB stadium. The match will kick off at 15h30.
