Mpumalanga Premier, Mandla Ndlovu, joined forces with traffic officers and SAPS(South African Police Service) to monitor road safety on the N4 highway at Karino intersection, ahead of the Easter Weekend.
According to Mpumalanga Provincial Government spokesperson, George Mthethwa, the multi-disciplinary team checked vehicles for compliance with traffic rules, aiming to prevent road fatalities during the Easter holidays.
“ Premier Ndlovu says the Provincial Government, working with traffic management authorities have stepped up measures to prevent road fatalities during the Easter holidays as motorists are traveling to various destinations for church services and vacations,” said Mthethwa.

The crackdown added to other activities conducted throughout the province, including the Road Safety campaign led by Mpumalanga MEC for DCSSL(Community Safety, Security and Liaison), MEC, Jackie Macie, at N4 Toll Road, Alkmaar Rest Stop, in the City of Mbombela, as well as the Lebombo Bordergate alongside stakeholders from the Security Cluster.
