Mpumalanga Province made a significant impact at the 6th South Africa Investment Conference, held at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Gauteng, on 31 March 2026.
The province’s delegation, led by Premier Mandla Ndlovu, MEC for DEDT(Economic Development and Tourism) Jesta Sidell, and HOD(Head of Department), Immy Serakalala, showcased Mpumalanga’s investment potential and commitment to driving inclusive economic growth and job creation.
The conference reportedly attracted over 1,250 delegates and 31 countries, demonstrating global interest in South Africa’s investment opportunities
aimed to position South Africa as a prime investment destination, and Mpumalanga’s participation underscored its resolve to become a competitive investment hub.

DEDT said the initiative comes at the back of a successful Mpumalanga Investment and Mining Conference convened last year, which raised R 242 billion in pledges to the provincial economy.
“ Our full participation to the 2026 investment conference was not merely to add numbers, but to give meaning to our resolve to position Mpumalanga as a competitive investment hub.
“The Investment Conference further marks a significant moment in the economy of the country and presents an opportunity for Mpumalanga to advance the province’s quest to achieve the key priorities of the 7th administration, of driving inclusive economic growth and job creation, reducing poverty and tackling the high cost of living, and building a capable, ethical and developmental state,” said DEDT.
Additionally, DEDT said the province also used the platform to engage key stakeholders and captains of industries on investment opportunities available in the province, as reflected in the Mpumalanga Investment Book.
“ Mpumalanga is currently accelerating the implementation of high impact projects geared towards the realisation of inclusive economic growth and massive job creation. Some of the catalytic projects reflected in the Mpumalanga Investment book are: The Mariepskop Mountain Cable Car and the Hazyview Water Waves; the Nkomazi SEZ;
the Petro-Chemical and Forestry Industrial Parks; the Mpumalanga International Food Market,” said DEDT.
