Faith-based organisations including pastors, priests and traditional healers recently came together during a Provincial Prayer Session, organised by the Department of Education, as a gesture of support for the 69 980 Mpumalanga matriculants who will sit for the 2025 National Senior Certificate Examinations.
Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Lindi Masina, was also in attendance and said the prayer session is a reflection of the collective belief that education is both an intellectual and spiritual journey.
Masina said the Department is confident that the teachers and officials have done everything humanly possible to prepare the learners throughout their years of study.
“Let every church, mosque, temple, and home become a sanctuary of prayer for our children. Let us declare that no anxiety, no distraction, and no obstacle will stand in the way of their success. Together, we can build a wall of faith around our learners, strong enough to carry them through to victory,” said MEC Masina.
According to the MEC, the Department is committing to a credible, transparent, and incident-free 2025 examination, with all systems in place, including trained invigilators, audited centers, and security measures reinforced.
Masina has called upon the Class of 2025 to honor their teachers and parents by giving their best, as their results will represent the collective dreams of families, schools, the province, and their achievements will encourage other learners who will embark on the same journey in the coming years.
“To the Class of 2025, you are the pride of our Province, the sons and daughters of the Place of the Rising Sun. You have walked a long journey filled with learning, laughter, challenges, and triumphs. You have displayed resilience and courage. Now, the time has come for you to demonstrate the knowledge, wisdom, and values you have gained.
“As we lift our hands in prayer today, let us do so with gratitude and faith, knowing that our God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in our learners. May He bless the Class of 2025 with wisdom, calmness, and understanding. To our faith leaders and partners, thank you for walking this journey of transformation with us,” said Masina.
