A number of school material and other items including 51 tablets, 5 laptops, 2 external hard drives, CCTV cameras, a Wi-Fi router, 3 screen projectors, a large Empire music mixer, 2 printers, were allegedly stolen during a burglary that occurred at KaMhlushwa Primary School, Nkomazi Local Municipality, in the early hours of Sunday morning, 8 June 2025.
The incident was highly condemned by the Department of Education in Mpumalanga, calling for the perpetrators to be swiftly brought to book.
Community members were urged to refrain from buying stolen goods and to alert the KaMhlushwa Police Station, if anyone is found selling the items.

Department said the school’s ability to deliver quality teaching and learning is severely impacted by such acts of criminality.
“ The Department strongly condemns this criminal act. The theft of educational equipment undermines the Department’s ongoing efforts to ensure that schools are adequately resourced. By working together and remaining vigilant, we can effectively combat crime in our communities. The Department is motoring the situation closely,” said the Department of Education.
