Four people were injured during an alleged shooting and robbery incident that took place at a tavern in Thekwane South, near Kanyamazane, on Thursday evening, 24 April 2025.
It is reported that three males entered the tavern, bought a drink and sat on the benches. One of the men is said to have went aside and returned a carrying a firearm.
“ At that moment, he allegedly began firing some shots indiscriminately, resulting in the injury of four patrons. Meanwhile, other people that were inside the tavern at the time, ran for their lives in panic. The matter was reported to the authorities and the victims were taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment,” said Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene with several items including a Huawei P Smart cellphone, meat, and alcohol beverages.
According to Brigadier Mdhluli, a business robbery case was registered and no one has been arrested so far.
