Minister Didiza and MEC Shiba during the oversight visit

Mpumalanga MEC for the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs(DARDLEA), alongside the Minister and Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza and Mcebisi Skwatsha-respectively, recently conducted an oversight visit to two projects(Naga and Moniwa) outside eMalahleni.
According a statement released by DARDLEA, the visit was part of build-up activities towards the District Development Model Presidential Imbizo.
It was also reported that the visits preceded a Stakeholders Engagement that took place at the Ridge Casino, whereby Shiba and Skwatsha spoke to farmers, CPA’s, farm dwellers and labour tenants on daily challenges affecting them.
The two senior officials also reportedly handed out title deeds to farm dwellers and labour tenants around the Nkangala District.
“ The issuing of title deeds is a strategic intervention towards the provision of security of tenure, to strengthen the labour tenants’ and farm dwellers’ right to land acquisition and property rights,” said DARDLEA.
