About 95 disadvantaged learners from Sinqobile Primary and Louisville Combined School, at KwaLomshiya Village in Louisville, were beneficiaries of full school uniforms donated through a collaborative endeavour between RISE FM and Hollywood Foundation.
According to a statement released by Hollywood Foundation, the gesture was part of the Back-to-School Campaign spearheaded by the two entities, which is  viewed as a commitment to provide relief to parents, also restoring the dignity of children in the local community as the academic year kicks off.
It was also reported that the uniform handover is part of Hollywood Foundation’s R8 million contribution to schools in South Africa, in this case, it is viewed as an attempt to address challenges faced by families in Louisville, primarily because access to basic educational necessities can be a barrier to the success of children.
The acting sales manager at RISE FM, Amos Nkosi, welcomed the partnership with Hollywood Foundation.
“ We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with the Hollywood Foundation on this impactful initiative. By providing full school uniforms to these 95 learners, we hope to alleviate some of the financial burdens on their families and empower them to focus on their education,” said Nkosi.
