A new leadership for the Traditional Health Practitioners (THP’s) Forum was elected during a meeting that took place in Marite, Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, on Friday 10 November.
The forum will reportedly represent the aspirations of traditional healers, also serving as a link between the district and provincial THP forums.
” The gathering was blessed with the attendance of officials from the Department of Health, as well as Ms M Selokela who is the Provincial Manager for African Traditional Medicine Program, Ms S Pula who is the Provincial Chairperson of the THP’s at the Interim Traditional Health Practitioners Council of South Africa.

” Ms S Pula encouraged all THP’s to love each other and support whoever will be elected to lead the forum,” said the Department of Health in a statement.
The new leadership, elected after a voting process, include; Fanie Mashaba(Chairperson), Esther Mashele(Deputy Chairperson), Charity Makhubela(Secretary), Foster Maunye(Deputy Secretary), Nabie Makukule(Organiser) and 25 additional members some of which were from the THP organisations that operate in the Bushbuckridge area.
