A new leadership for the Traditional Health Practitioners (THP’s) Forum was elected during a meeting that took place in Marite, Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, on Friday 10 November.
The forum will reportedly represent the aspirations of traditional healers, also serving as a link between the district and provincial THP forums.
” The gathering was blessed with the attendance of officials from the Department of Health, as well as Ms M Selokela who is the Provincial Manager for African Traditional Medicine Program, Ms S Pula who is the Provincial Chairperson of the THP’s at the Interim Traditional Health Practitioners Council of South Africa.

” Ms S Pula encouraged all THP’s to love each other and support whoever will be elected to lead the forum,” said the Department of Health in a statement.
The new leadership, elected after a voting process, include; Fanie Mashaba(Chairperson), Esther Mashele(Deputy Chairperson), Charity Makhubela(Secretary), Foster Maunye(Deputy Secretary), Nabie Makukule(Organiser) and 25 additional members some of which were from the THP organisations that operate in the Bushbuckridge area.
I’m happy to see the structure of our traditional health and with Department of health been together and I hope we will give the best support Amen.
