Angry community members of Matafin, in Mbombela, reportedly burnt a local Sangoma to death .
The deceased, who was identified by his family as the well known Mangebeletane Samuel Tsela, who was allegedly linked to the brutal death of Bontle Mashiyane from Mganduzweni, whose body was found mutilated . Bontle was reportedly six years old when she sadly lost her life to alleged muti killing.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, said police received information about a man who was burnt by community members.
” Police as well as Emergency Medical Services responded to the information. He was certified dead by medical practitioners on the scene. A case of murder has been opened at the Nelspruit Police Station following the burning of Mangebeletane,” said Brigadier Mohlala.
Young Bontle went missing in April last year while playing with friends at her yard, her lifeless body was found mutilated in the bushes not far from her home at Mganduzweni .
Parolee Collen Hlongwane, 37, his girlfriend Ntombikayise Ngwenya, 41, Bontle’s neighbour Thapelo Ngomane, 26, Tsela and his son Philasande, 29, were arrested and charged with kidnapping, rape and murder.
