MEC Manzini introducing the topics for discussion

The three-days 2024/2025 Provincial Strategic Planning Session by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, led by MEC Sasekani Manzini and senior provincial health officials, is currently underway in Mbombela.
The session, which started on Tuesday 28 November, is reportedly aimed at outlining department finances and the cost to execute health services in the province.
Other issues on the table include; highlighting the reduction of maternal and child mortality rate, maternal and women’s health trends, child health, PHC utilisation, hospital efficiency and expenditure, hospital case management indicators, issues of safety and security in health facilities, EMS(Emergency Medical Services), district health services, health care support services, health science, training and planning.

” The aim is to measure the departmental performance and the outcome, the budget allocation and key risks to ensure that the Department has a solid plan in the continuation of health services in the province,” said the Department in a statement.
The session will reported also focus on infrastructure, communicable to non-communicable diseases.
