WITBANK: The country has hardly absorbed the dramatic evidence of six murders for insurance benefits against a law enforcement official, the infamous former police Constable Rosemary Ndlovu.
Yet another law enforcement official is in hot water, the gravity of the offences that the all mighty Mpumalanga Hawks charged the latter with, are a bit confusing to figure out the difference.
However Ndlovu, who was recently sentenced to many life sentences as well as many years recently, and Tinyiko Claude Mathebula (37) seem to have something in common.
Both are from Mpumalanga Province of South Africa, both seem to be Vatukulu va Gwambe na Dzavane .
Mathebula is a Prison Warden at Paxton Correctional Services in Emalahleni (Witbank) and it is believed that she was asleep in her house when the HAWKS pounced on her at 03h30 am today.
The police say they found nearly R1-million worth of drugs and R70 000 hard cash in the house.
Captain Deneo Lucy Sekgotodi, the provincial HAWKS spokesperson, said in a statement earlier today that Crystal Meth, Cocaine, Rock and Heroin worth an all-inclusive value of R870 000 and the cash were confiscated.
Mathebula appeared in the local magistrate court hours later and granted R3000 bail pending her next court appearance on January 27 next year.
Back to Mathebula’s similarities with Ndlovu; drugs indirectly kill people, Ndlovu killed people indirectly, both were in the positions of trust in the legal fraternity, both are women, both look innocent and etc.
It remains to be seen if investigations may later reveal that she supplied prisoners with drugs.
Mpumalanga Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations, Major General Zodwa Mokoena applauded her team and all units involved.
She said to all government employees, “Your days are numbered in the service, we will investigate without fear, favour nor prejudice.
