The Premier of Mpumalanga, Mandla Ndlovu, has congratulated the SABC(South African Broadcasting Corporation) on its outstanding achievements at the 2025 Telkom Radio Awards.
The awards were reportedly received by SABC at the 2025 Telkom Radio Awards, in recognition of outstanding achievements by SABC regional radio stations, Ligwalagwala and Ikwekwezi, in the province.
As a result, the radio stations paid a visit to the Premeir in Mbombela to present the accolades.

The awards are viewed as an achievement that places Mpumalanga firmly on the national map and highlight the vital role radio plays in informing, educating, and uniting communities in their home languages.
The Provincial Government said it remains committed to strengthening partnerships with the SABC to ensure effective communication, transparency, and public participation.
Premier Ndlovu reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting public broadcasters that serve the people without fear or favour.
“It is our duty to support the SABC. The Public broadcaster plays a critical role in communication, development, and accountability,” said the Premier.
Ikwekwezi FM won the Best Documentary (Abarhali Abangakabongwa), Best Daytime Show(Sidithile by Buziwe Masango), and Station of the Year 2025, while Ligwalagwala FM scooped MyStation for Most Votes Award.
