Caption: Public Works MEC Thulasizwe Thomo appointed as EXCO spokesperson

Mpumalanga MEC for Public Works Roads and Transport(PWR&T), Thulasizwe Thomo, has been appointed as the new spokesperson for the Executive Council(EXCO).
Thomo takes the reigns from the previous spokesperson and Health MEC, Sasekani Manzini, who is lauded for her role in consolidating the working relations between the Provincial Government and the media fraternity.
According to Mpumalanga Premier, Mandla Ndlovu, Manzini affirmed the role of EXCO, as the highest decision making structure of government, through communication of fundamental decisions focusing on service delivery programmes and interventions.
Premier Ndlovu threw his weight behind Thomo’s appointment and credited the MEC as an excellent communicator with the required experience.
” We are convinced that he(Thomo) will advance the government’s commitment to keep our citizens informed about EXCO resolutions geared towards the realisation of the key priorities of the 7th Administration. These are; inclusive economy and job creation, reduce poverty and tackle the high cost of living and build a capable, ethical and developmental state,” Ndlovu affirmed.
In addition, Ndlovu said the improvement of communication between the public service and the citizens in Mpumalanga, as well as sharing accurate information that is accessible and timeous, is a Constitutional requirement, as set out in Section 195(g).
