By Kopano Dibakwane
The newly elected executive mayor of Emalahleni local municipality, Leah Mabuza, conducted the first meet and greet outreach programme to introduce her new mayoral team, at the municipality civic hall.
Mabuza took control of the municipality, following the resignation of former executive mayor, Conny Nkalintshana on 21 June this year.
The new mayor assured the broad community of Emalahleni that all employees at the municipality will roll up their sleeves and work towards improving service delivery points and that ‘Batho Pele’ principles will be the order of the day.
The communication department at the municipality released a statement detailing further plans to be embarked upon by Mabuza and the mayoral team.
” Cllr Leah Mabuza is using these outreach programmes to engage with community members of Emalahleni on service delivery issues, including amongst others, water challenges, road infrastructure, support to community projects and cooperatives. The community of Emalahleni is encouraged to attend the mayoral outreach in order to have their voice and inputs heard,” said the municipality.
It was reported that the outreach programme will spread across different wards within the municipality in the weeks to come.
