As their slogan say “Akudlalwa kwezemidlalo” ,the Department of Culture Sports and Recreation in Mpumalanga has again through a number of athletes within the province raised its flag high after the final scores for South African Schools Athletics National High School track and field Championships were announced. The results were announced in Germiston Athletic Stadium in Gauteng province where the different sporting activities happened.
A number of young athletes from the province showed that patience is key when they scooped a number of awards on a ceremony that happened last week after a long competition in proving that sports is still alive in the province .

Mainstream Medal count (Mpumalanga)
-Gold 8
-Silver 9
-Bronze 12

L.S.E.N Medal count (Mpumalanga)
-Gold 9
-Silver 12
-Bronze 4
TOTAL 25
The Mpumalanga team obtained Positions 5 with 359.5 score in the meanstream category and position 4 with 296.3 score in the L. S. E. N category.
