The MEC for the Department of Agricultural, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs(DARDLEA) in Mpumalanga, Busisiwe Shiba, has called upon her staff in the department to use the festive holidays to recharge, so that they come back re-energised in the coming new year of 2024.

Shiba addressed the staff members during a recent year-end gathering which reflected and highlighted on the successes achieved in 2023. She acknowledged the good work done by all DARDLEA officials, including Senior Management, under the leadership of Head of Department(HOD)-Cain Chunda.
” MEC Shiba singled out progress on a number of infrastructure projects, a clean audit for 2022/23 Financial Year, filling vacant posts, the containment of Foot & Mouth disease and Avian Flu, strides made on Climate Change Mitigation and Just Transition, but importantly, the recent 1st prize win of a continental award in Zambia through our innovative climate change-friendly Smart Agriculture Box(SAB), which won two more other prestigious awards in the last six months.

She attributed all this to dedication and team work, adding that there is still room for improvement,” said DARDLEA in a statement.
The event also featured the presence of Rise FM Station Manager-Lance Classes and renowned motivational speaker Selekane.
