Mtshweni-Tsipane, Mashatile, Mahlobo and Dlamini-Zuma at the bridge in Thekwane South

The Deputy President of South Africa, Paul Mashatile, alongside Minister in the Presidency responsible for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo, led by Mpumalanga Premier, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, visited the Karino Water Treatment Plant in Nsikazi(near Mbombela), which is expected to store 10 million litres of water per day and will be purified to supply communities that are 29 kilometres away.

Mashatile also visited Thekwane South, where he was happy about the construction and completion of a bridge in the area. He said that he was happy to visit the Water Treatment Plant which shows how water resources can be used to empower women.

” I want to encourage the Minister and the Department of Water and Sanitation to continue to make clean water accessible to rural areas. As a government we must ensure that all enjoy that basic human right,” said Mashatile.
