Mamelodi Sundowns ladies team secured their second continental trophy within three years by winning the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League 3-0 against Sporting Club Casablanca at Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Cote d’Voire on Sunday 19 November.
The win comes seven days after the Sundowns men’s team also won the inaugural African Football League tournament against Wydad Casablanca in a game played at the sold out Loftus Stadium in Tshwane.

Banyana ba style, as they are affectionately known, were evidently no match for their Morrocan opponents. The first goal came from the penalty spot in the 20th minute from Refilwe Tholakele. Boitumelo Rabale netted the second goal in the 23rd minute, giving Sundowns a comfortable lead until the end of the first half.
Tholakele secured her brace in the 77th minute and it was clear that Sundowns were beyond reach and on their way to victory.
Sundowns bagged a cash prize of over R7-million, while Sporting Club walked away with about R4-million for their effort.
