The efforts by Mpumalanga DARDLEA(Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs) to contribute to the growth and development of the agricultural sector, came to the fore when a total of 116 graduates who participated and completed the Department’s 2023-2025 Agricultural Graduates Program were honoured.
A special vibrant ceremony, led by DARDLEA MEC Khethiwe Moeketsi, was held at Nutting House Lodge, outside Mbombela, to congratulate the graduates and celebrate their unwavering dedication throughout the duration of the program.
According to DARDLEA, the graduates were placed in 94 farms across the province, where they gained on-the-job training and were mentored by experienced farmers who prepared them for the sector.
“ MEC Moeketsi, who also handed over completion certificates, encouraged the graduates to continue making use of the Extension Services program offered by the Department from time to time. The event was also attended by representatives from organised agriculture, and farmers,” said DARDLEA.
Other senior DARDLEA officials who attended ceremony included Chief Director, Dr. Maanda Dagada, amongst others.
