Caption: Sandile Kagiso Mantsoe sentenced to 15 years behind bars for fraud

Sandile Kagiso Montsoe(34) thought his woes were over, after he was sentenced to 36 years imprisonment for the murder of his then girlfriend Karabo Mokoena in 2018.
However, he was sentenced to an additional 15 years imprisonment for fraud on Tuesday 16 July by the Evander Magistrate’s Court, which will run concurrently with his existing 36 years sentence.
According to Mpumalanga spokesperson for the Hawks, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, Montsoe reportedly used his company called Trillion Dollar Legacy(PTY)Ltd to embezzle more than R1million from 119 unsuspecting victims.
Sekgotodi said that Montsoe appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Friday 22 August 2022 for the fraud charges committed between April and August 2016.
“ The accused operated an investment scheme defrauding victims of the amount in excess of one million rand. A total of 120 charges were brought against the accused,” said Sekgotodi.
According to Sekgotodi, Mantsoe’s company Trillion Dollar Legacy was fined R1.6 million, which is suspended for five years on each charge.
