The second suspect, Mduduzi “Khehla” Lubisi(43), nabbed for the gruesome and fatal shooting incident in Pienaar, appeared before the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 16 January 2025.
Lubisi is linked to the hair-raising incident which occurred in the early hours of Saturday 11 January 2025, whereby 8 people were fatally shot, while three others sustained injuries and rushed to hospital.

One of the injured victims was since discharged from hospital, while the remaining two victims are still receiving medical attention.
Lubisi was reportedly arrested in Pienaar on 14 January 2025 and he is facing 8 counts of murder, including 2 counts of attempted murder.
Additional charges against Lubisi include possession of unlicensed firearms, robbery with aggravated circumstances. He was reportedly convicted for a case of assault GBH in 2017 and sentenced to 5 months or a fine of R5 000.
The first suspect, Bongani Patrick Nkosi (39), appeared at the same court this week and the matter was postponed. Nkosi was arrested on 12 January 2025. He was allegedly found in possession of a pistol with about 13 live ammunition.
Nkosi and Lubisi were remanded in custody and they will both appear at the same court on 21 January 2025 for a formal bail application.
