A chilling incident has shocked the community of Buyisonto Trust in Bushbuckridge where a 54-year-old man was allegedly shot and killed by his own brother on Sunday 17 November.
The suspect, who remains at large, reportedly fired at his brother point-blank without any prior argument, then fled the scene on foot.
The spokesperson for Mpumalanga police, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, said the motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
“ The matter was reported to the authorities and upon arrival, the male victim was unfortunately certified dead. Meanwhile, the police in Bushbuckridge opened a murder case and immediately launched a manhunt for the suspect. The suspect is still at large and police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP. All information received will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous,” said Brigadier Mdhluli.
