MEC Sasekani Manzini welcoming delegates from other provinces

Mpumalanga Health MEC, Sasekani Manzini, welcomed all Provincial officials of the Department of Health from their respective provinces, to the Public Health Case Management Conference, led by the National Department of Health, held at Anew Resort in White River, which is scheduled to run from 20-23 August.
The 3-day conference is reportedly aimed at establishing possibilities of best practices and to benchmark on Public Health Case Management, with various other topics on the agenda.
According to the Mpumalanga Department of Health, various topics on the agenda include Ethics and Principles of Case Management, Disease Management and Utilisation as well as National Health Account(NHA).

In her speech to welcome the various guests from the National Department and various provinces, Manzini said the conference seeks to improve the health outcomes in the country.
“ We hope you will be inspired as Case Managers and rise to the occasion, and apply knowledge that will assist the Department to improve revenue collection, thus improve the quality of healthcare services for the benefit of our people,” said Manzini.
She said that the imminent implementation of the National Health Insurance(NHI), the Department of Health is compelled to strengthen systems that must contribute a positive impact to financial reforms.
The conference will also deal with the prescription of minimum benefits legislation and application, the reporting of indicators for episode of care, NHI funding model and purchasing of service, the best practices, challenges and mitigation, the best practices in revenue and case management collaboration,(RAF) improved revenue collection strategy, Mental Health current National status and interventions, the effect of Social Media on user behaviour and health, Mental Health special focus on men health and the impact at the work place.
“ This annual conference must continue to provide an educational platform for Case Managers to aspire to develop public health care practices and improve health outcomes and service delivery for our people,” Manzini concluded.
