The Hawks Nelspruit-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation re-arrested John Edward Ndlovu, who is already serving 5 life terms, for two counts of possession of unlicensed firearms on Friday 14 June 2024.
Ndlovu was reportedly previously sentenced in July 2022 by the Mbombela High Court.
Mpumalanga spokesperson for the Hawks, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, said Ndlovu formed part of the Ellese gang, whose charges were withdrawn pending ballistic reports during 2022. He was reportedly linked to 4 cases through ballistics, after the forensic report was finalised.
“ A warrant of arrest was authorised and the accused was traced and found at Standerton Correctional Services where he is serving 5x life sentences for murder, armed robbery, intimidation, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” said Sekgotodi.
She said that Ndlovu appeared before the White River Magistrate’s Court on Friday 14 June 2024 and the case was postponed to 23 July 2024 for a regional Court date.
