Mpumalanga premier, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane and her delegation from relevant departments such as; MEC for finance, economic development and tourism-Mpumi Hlophe, acting head of department(HOD)-Cain Chunda, MTPA acting chairperson- Herman Vilakazi and MTPA executive manager for tourism-Ntwanano Mtungwa, are attending the the IMEX tourism expo in Frankfurt-Germany.
The expo runs from 21 to 28 May and it’s regarded as one of the world’s leading trade shows for business tourism across the world.
Mtshweni-Tsipane and her delegation are expected to convene meetings with representatives from various commercial aviation enterprises, through pre-scheduled appointments, with the goal of increasing direct flights to Mpumalanga from key tourism sources such as China, Germany and France.
The delegation is reportedly using the excursion to emphasise the fact that Mpumalanga is a safe tourist destination.
The conference is said to have attracted over 9000 participants representing the tourism value chain from across 70 countries.
