It was sad moments for a number of nurses in a memorial service which was held at Marite community hall in Bushbuckridge on Wednesday, to pay tribute to two nurses( from the same family) who were allegedly shot and killed following a domestic dispute at kaMajika near Hazyview on 30 April.
The event was reportedly organised by Marite clinic in conjunction with Matikwane hospital staff and management. Messages of support were delivered by the clinic operational manager and the hospital unit manager.
Ehlanzeni district manager, David Mdluli, presented the eulogy on behalf of the department of health. Mdluli was joined by organised labour such as DENOSA, HOSPERSA and NEHAWU.
The memorial service follows a visit to the bereaved family of the slain nurses by MEC for health in Mpumalanga, Sasekani Manzini, to pass her condolences.
