MEC for health in Mpumalanga, Sasekani Manzini, visited the Mnisi family on  to pass her condolences following the death of two unidentified sisters and a brother from the same family. The two deceased sisters reportedly served in the department of health as nurses. Their tragic passing came as a result of an alleged incident of domestic violence. It is also alleged that the three siblings died from gun shots.
Manzini strongly condemned the incident and referred to it as a “barbaric act”. She added that the deaths of the two nurses is a major setback for the department of health.
” The department and the community at large has lost a lot as it takes the department four years to produce a professional nurse. To lose two nurses at the same time is a great loss to the community and the department,” said Manzini.
The MEC was accompanied by senior provincial health management and officials from Ehlanzeni district.
