Mandlenkosi Happy Thwala (45) who was a police officer stationed stationed at Kabokweni SAPS was shot dead at his home in Pienaar Mpumalanga in early hours of this morning.
Thwala was found dead by a neighbour, in Gedlembane, Pienaar.
He was shot five times allegedly with his service pistol, two times on the head and three times on his upper body. Two cartridges were found on the floor and his vehicle, green VW Polo Classic ( DSV 112 MP) as well as his service firearm and cellphone was missing but later discovered abondoned in the bushes.
A murder case with additional charge of robbery was opened for investigation.
A 29-year-old suspect (lady) has been arrested in connection with this brutal murder at Dayizenza hiding at her boyfriend’s house.
The motive behind the killing of the Sergeant who was stationed at KaBhokweni police station remains unknown.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Friday 05 August, 2022 facing a charge of murder.
