For the first time in South African Boxing four titles will be on the line in one day.
After successfully hosting world-class tournaments in Sandton in 2021 and in Middelburg in April 2022, J4Joy Development & Entertainment is hosting the highly anticipated International Boxing Tournament at the Steve Tshwete Banquet Hall in Middelburg, Mp2umalanga on 08 July 2022.
The tournament will consist of 4 titles and 6 fights in total:
1)SA National Bantamweight Title:
Roland Malindi will be defending his title against opponent Rofhiwa Nemushungwa.
2)WBF Women’s Super Bantamweight World Title:
South Africa’s Matshidiso Mokebisi who is former two-times SA champion and former two-times WBF International champion will be facing off with United Kingdom’s Katie Healy who is a three-times kick boxing World champion.
3) WBF Super Junior Featherweight Title:
Current champion Thato Bonokoane will be representing South Africa by defending his title against Asian Jhaleel Payao from Philippines.
4) Mpumalanga Bantamweight Provincial Title:
Recently launched Chief T.S Dlamini Mpumalanga Provincial Title belt will be up for grabs in a match up between Mthobisi Nkosi and Arnel Lubisi who are both from the Mpumalanga province.
This will be an occasion of great history, as it will be for the first a female boxer will be coming from another continent to fight for the world title in South Africa.
Opportunities will be afforded for Mpumalanga boxers who turned professional in 2022 and will be fighting for the first time under their new BSA boxing licenses.
The Tournament will be available through live streaming and broadcast live on SABC 2 as well as SABC Sports Channel 124 on Open View and Telkom 1 channel.
