Business robberies in rural areas have since hiked up due to people afraid to report such matters. It was unfortunately a bad day for Two suspects who were arrested in connection with business robberies that happened at Khulani Primary School and Mdumseni Primary School around Masoyi area, Mpumalanga.

According to a report on police disposal states that on Monday, 07 February 2022 two armed suspects allegegly entered premises at Mdumseni Primary School pretending to be parents. They then went to the staff room and held the educators at gunpoint.

These suspects robbed victims of their cell phones, laptops as well as undisclosed amount of cash before they fled the scene. The matter was reported to Masoyi Police where a case of business robbery was opened with a launch of manhunt for suspects.

All that was never enough ,on Wednesday, at around 10h00am there another business robbery took place at Khulani Primary School where armed suspects also robbed victims of their personal items, including cell phones, laptops and undisclosed amount of cash then fled the scene with the robbed items.

Police at Masoyi were notified and a case of business robbery was registered with a launch of manhunt for suspects.

It was not long enough after police started searching for the suspects when information received by police showed the where abouts of the suspects.on the whereabouts of the suspects .

Upon arrival at a certain house in Masoyi, police found two suspicious men as well as a cell phone believed to have been stolen from victims at Khulani Primary School.

Police also seized a resemblance of a firearm in possession of the suspects.

The two suspects, between the age of 30 and 40 were then arrested on allegations of being in possession of suspected stolen property.

Mpumalanga provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has welcomed the arrest of the suspects. “It is very much disturbing when suspects target places like schools to commit crime. Such environments are meant for teaching and learning. We hope that the law will take its course and an example be set for others who might consider emulating their actions” she said.

The suspects are expected to appear before court soon.
