Safety of rhinos in the Kruger National park has always been first priority to tourists as well as those living within the park.

The Kruger National Park (KNP) decided on the number of rhino porching to do regularily checks on the left rhinos within the park using the dehorning maintenance amongst the animals as well as installing trackers to trace the animals’ movements in ensuring it’s safety.
A well informed session on the dehorning was done in Kruger Park through a media excursion that was held in giving information to the members of the media on the importance of dehorning.

According to KNP’s wildlife veterinarian, Dr Lufuno Netshivhadulu said the dehorning of the rhinos is done in a professional manner that the animals are never hurt .
“Installing of tracks within the rhinos has assisted in many ways that even with numbers of poaching has decreased within the park, to all the poachers we make sure that are brought to book, animals nerf to be protected for future generations not hunted”,he said.
