The MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport in Mpumalanga, Thulasizwe Thomo, has announced that the long-awaited rehabilitation of Luphisi Road(D1723) between Lihawu and Karino/Plaston(Road P25/1) turnoff in Pienaar, City of Mbombela, is underway.
According to a statement by the MEC, a stakeholders meeting was held with the Acting Executive Mayor Cllr. Mkhatshwa, alongside Inkosi HR Nkosi of the Msogwaba Tribal Council, to introduce the contractor who will be working on the rehabilitation of the road.
“ We are committed in ensuring that that this busy and vital road is restored to its quality state, and we look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to make this project a success. This critical corridor road has been a priority for our department and we are excited to see the project underway,” said MEC Thomo.
