Provincial health HOD(head of department), Dr Lucas Ndhlovu, visited Sabie hospital on a fact-finding mission aimed at resolving grievances attributed to the health facility such as alleged poor hygiene and shortage of medication.
The concerns were raised by residents of Thaba Chweu local municipality to the MEC for health in Mpumalanga, Sasekani Manzini, during the TLP programme (taking the legislature to the people) conducted by various MEC’s (members executive council), held in Mashishing last week,
According to the department, Dr Ndhlovu was pleased with the state of cleanliness at the health facility after he visited all corners of the entire hospital, alongside Dr AA Ndou-Mammbona(Sabie hospital CEO) and Pharaise Mogane(acting district director-Ehlanzeni department of health), to monitor the provision of services and establish the veracity of the said allegations raised during the TLP.
” The hospital is very clean, medication stock levels are at 89%. However, we noted with concern the challenges of plumbing in the old building wing of the hospital, hence I instructed the infrastructure team to urgently attend to it. In general, the hospital is doing very. We are delighted and grateful to the CEO(chief executive officer) and the team for their hard work and dedication in ensuring that our people continue to receive adequate healthcare services, said Dr Ndhlovu.
