Historically disadvantaged farmers as well as individuals in Middleburg and surrounding areas attended a capacity building session on the Water Use Authorisation process hosted by Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs(DARDLEA) alongside the Department of Water and Sanitation, on Tuesday 20 August.
According to a statement issued by DARDLEA, the capacity building session unpacked the National Water Act of 1998 with the main focus on General Authorisation, Permissible Water Uses, Existing Lawful Water Use and Dispense with the requirements for water use license.
“ Those in attendance were also taken through the requirements for completing the Water Use License Application Form, obtainable from the Department’s preferred online system called eWulaas, also used for submitting the application. Ninety(90) days is the national Department’s turnaround time to process water license applications,” said DARDLEA.
