In yet another bid to restore quality health in the province, the Mpumalanga Department of Health has launched #OperationAsiphileni on 28 October 2025 at Witbank Tertiary Hospital.
The launch was led by Health MEC, Sasekani Manzini, and attended by senior management and employees from the department.
The program is reportedly aimed at restoring excellent healthcare provision to communities across the province.
Additionally, the programme will reportedly ensure that all the managers and employees of the Department will have to team up, irrespective of their positions and roles to ensure the restoration of excellent healthcare provision to our communities.

“ MEC Manzini stated that referral hospitals like Witbank , should be be a centre of excellence and a leader in providing the best quality care to patients and in doing so, other health establishments will benchmark from them and be their own champions in quality health care.
“ All healthcare establishments as well as key areas of the Department are targeted in ensuring smooth operations, Patients needs centred services and the best quality health care provision,” said the Department of Health.
A team will reportedly be established in monitoring the expected outcomes of today’s launch.
“ Various communication platforms with communities will be further explored , utilised and strengthened in ensuring that the public is aware of what is due to them from our facilities,” the Department added.
