A tradition council with offices is always good in terms of keeping records of people and holding proper meetings for its community.
In his address Premier Mandla Ndlovu said he will make sure that he work had in glove with traditional leaders in order for them to be part of good governance.
on his promise a block of new offices were officially handed over to Inkosi Bhekizizwe Mthethwa of the Madabukela Traditional Council in Lunenburg, Mkhondo Local Municipality, on Tuesday 10 September, by Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu.
Premier Ndlovu as he vowed that he will make sue that the implementing of drastic measures to strengthen the working relationship with Amakhosi in order to realise development initiatives in rural areas has been met at first stage. The Institution of Traditional Leadership in Mpumalanga, is at an advanced stage in a way that the premier has been making sure that he meet Amakhosi in the province as part of strengthening government relationship in the province with its people..
In delivering his keynote address, Ndlovu made a commitment to ensure that the traditional councils in Mpumalanga are thoroughly equipped with the relevant resources to deliver services in their respective rural communities.
“ In the 2024/25 financial year, 22 state-of-the-art offices will be constructed, while some are to be renovated,” said Ndlovu.
The Premier stated that local service providers will be considered in the construction and renovation phase of the offices, as a way to ensure inclusive growth and job creation.
“ Two-hundred(200) job opportunities were created for the local community during the construction of the Madabukela Traditional Council,” said Ndlovu.
Ndlovu conducted a courtesy visit to various royal houses around Mkhondo Local Municipality, prior to the handing over ceremony, accompanied by the Executive Mayor, Ngelosi Ndlovu.
The courtesy visit reportedly saw Ndlovu offering cattle to the traditional leaders as a sign of respect. Ndlovu also reportedly delivered tools of trade(cars) to Inkosi Mthethwa and the Madabukela Traditional Council.
Premier Ndlovu’s entourage included MEC Speed Mashilo for the Department of Corporate Governance, Human Settlements & Traditional Affairs(COGHSTA).
