She might be gone but her fighting spirit has shown many that she was not just a young girl but full of peace.
Bontle Zethu Ditebogo Mashiyane, aged 6 was reported missing on Saturday, 30 April 2022 by her family after she was last seen playing with other children nearby.
Her disappearence caught the attention of many in the province as Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane. The premier visited the family and promised that they will leave no stone unturned.
The commitment of Masoyi residents as well as members of teh blue uniform led to teh arrest of Three suspects linked to the disappearence of Bontle,who was found killed 2km from her home.
The investigation team was led to a scene where her body was thrown in the thick bushes, not far from her homestead (about 2 kilometers from her residence). Her body was found in a state of decomposition.
Collen Hlongwane (36), Thapelo Ngomane (25) and Ntombi Mgwenya (40) we found to be linked to her death. The Three suspects appeared before Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court today, Monday 23 May 2022, facing four charges of Kidnapping, Human trafficking, Rape and murder.
They were remanded in custody until 24 June, as they applied for legal aid assistance. They did not want to apply for a bail.
Their next appearance will be held at Masoyi Periodical Court.
